Larry Lawrence

Musician and Artist

Music is so much fun:

It is wonderful to be part of the combo "A Record Day" with Willy Alexander on vocals, Heather Morris on piano and Greg Stroh on Bass and also flute. We play concerts in many of the Seniors Residences in the Guelph, Kitchener and Waterloo area. Our repertoire includes favourite tunes from the early to mid-twentieth century; songs made famous by Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and even some early rock 'n roll. Good for listening and dancing.

Since retiring in 1999, I am grateful for the opportunity to have re-discovered the joy of making music. I started playing the trumpet long ago in high school.   In Collingwood I played trumpet in the Georgian Sound Big Band for  five years. Then I played jazz standards with "Eh Train Trio" with Jim Kinnear on keyboard and Ron Lombard or Ralph Johnson on Bass. Along the way I added tenor saxophone, flute and vocals. I moved to Guelph in 2009. I feel very fortunate to be asked to join with the wonderful musicians of A Record Day for performances during the past five years.
